During a 6-and-4 run through February and early March, the Wranglers have garnered national attention across the NAHL.

The league announced their ‘Player of the Month’ awards for February, and three Wranglers players were named honorable mention.

Forwards: Chase Davis

The Wranglers’ captain was added to the February honorable mentions list. Davis averaged a point per game in February, with nine total points in the nine games played. Davis helped propel the Wranglers’ offense with two goals and seven assists. Davis now has 40 points on the season, which is second to Pierce Patterson.

Defencemen: Pierce Patterson

The Amarillo blue-liner also put up impressive numbers last month to the tune of eight total points. Patterson has been no stranger to the score sheet this season and has now claimed the top spot in scoring amongst defencemen in the NAHL. Pierce has eight goals and 33 assists this season.

Goalie: Carter Clafton

Clafton has shut down opponents over the last six games, earning him an honorable mention for February and the Player of the Week award for the South division this past week. Over his last six starts, Clafton has posted a .964 save percentage over his last six starts, with two shutouts in the previous six. Overall, Clafton’s .910 save percentage is the tenth-best in the NAHL.

The Wranglers have used these performances to ride a four-game winning streak to put themselves in a tight playoff race with 13 games left in the regular season. Amarillo will look to add to their streak this week on the road against another hot team, the Shreveport Mudbugs.

Puck Drop for both nights is 7:11 pm and will be on HockeyTv and the Mixlr app.
