Connor McDonough Announces Commitment to Lindenwood University

Amarillo, TX – Wranglers goaltender Connor McDonough has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Lindenwood University.

McDonough, 19, burst onto the scene with the Wranglers last season helping the team clinch its first-ever berth in the Robertson Cup Playoffs going 8-0 as a starter down the stretch with a 1.37 GAA, a .946 save percentage, and four shutouts. The 6’5″ 210lb goaltender has continued his stellar play into the 2023-24 campaign, posting a record of 18-7-6 with a 2.39 GAA, a .910 save percentage, and one shutout so far in his first full season as the Wranglers starter, and is on pace to break the Wranglers’ single-season wins record for a goaltender.

“I chose Lindenwood because the coaches showed a lot of interest in me and gave me a very good offer,” said McDonough. “They made me feel very welcomed. I wanted to have an opportunity to play against the best teams in the country and wanted to go to a good school with a lot of opportunity for myself to develop. I am excited for the future,” McDonough said.

“All of us at Wrangler Nation are extremely proud of Connor and his commitment to Lindenwood,” said Wranglers Head Coach Ryan Anderson. “Connor has been a difference maker and a winner since he arrived in Amarillo and went on that magical nine-game run at the end of last season. He picked up right where he left off last season and we are so lucky to have him. Lindenwood is getting an extremely competitive goalie and an outstanding person who will add not only to the culture of the hockey team but also to the entire Lindenwood campus,” said Anderson.
