Amarillo, TX: The Amarillo Wranglers are proud to announce that captain Michael Spinner has committed to Saint John’s University.

Spinner was named the first captain for the Amarillo Wranglers and played in 39 games before suffering a shoulder injury, ending his season.

The Minnesota native will return home to play for Saint Johns, located in Collegeville, MN. The Johnnies are members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and are five-time MIAC playoff champions. SJU is also nine-time regular-season champions of the MIAC, including their latest title in 2020.

Michael Spinner provided the first-year Wranglers with experience on the blue line and leadership in the locker room, being an NAHL veteran coming into the 2021-22 season. During his career, Spinner suited up for the Kenai River Brown Bears, Springfield Jr. Blues, and St. Cloud Norseman before joining the Amarillo Wranglers.

The Saint John’s program is an NCAA Division III member and has made the national tournament six times. Michael Spinner is the fourth member of the Amarillo Wrangles to make a college commitment in the inaugural season.
