Amarillo, TX – Wranglers defenseman Nick Troutwine has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division III hockey at Skidmore College.
Troutwine, a Minnesota native, appeared in 35 regular season and 2 playoff games with the Wranglers after being acquired from the Minnesota Wilderness via trade in early December. With his high hockey IQ and strong defensive awareness, he made an instant impact and quickly became one of the Wranglers top defenders, becoming a mainstay on Amarillo’s top defensive pairing with Nolan Gagnon. With Amarillo, Troutwine had a career year with 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points with a +4 rating, and scored his first NAHL goal on December 30th, 2023 against the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
Prior to joining the Wranglers, Troutwine previously spent time with the Janesville Jets, El Paso Rhinos, and Minnesota Wilderness before finishing his amateur career in Amarillo. With the commitment, he becomes the fifth Wrangler from the 2023-24 squad to commit to NCAA hockey.
