Nov 11, 2022

Corpus Christi, Tx– The Wranglers are back on the road to face off against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays Friday and Saturday nights.

The Wranglers are coming off an emotional 5-to-4 win in a shoo-out last Friday against the Oklahoma Warriors. The Ice Rays look for home-ice advantage following two losses in El Paso last weekend.

After a successful Kids Day Game and Military Night, where both games had over 2,000 fans, the Wranglers take on the Ice Rays for the first time this season. Corpus enters the weekend matchup at the bottom of the South Division with a 2-12-2 record and four points on the year. Amarillo is currently in the fourth spot in the division with an 8-5-0-1 record.

The Wranglers are led by Defenseman Rihards Simanovics, who has eight goals and six assists for a season total of 14 points. Simanovics’ seven power-play goals currently lead the NAHL. Pierce Patterson is close behind Simanovics with 12 points so far.

The Ice Rays’ leading scorer is Michael Casey, with four goals and six assists, and Cameron Crolley is second with eight total points on the year. Corpus Christi is looking for their first win since September 30th, a 5-to-4 shootout win over the Ice Wolves.

The Wranglers and Ice Rays will drop the puck Friday at 7:05 to get the weekend series started inside the American Bank Center. The game will be broadcast live on HockeyTv. Fans can also listen to the radio call here
