Amarillo, Tx – The Wranglers have tendered forward Matthew Gross from the NA3HL El Paso Rhinos.

The Las Vegas native tallied 60 points in 31 games for the NA3HL Rhinos. Gross scored 10 points during the Rhinos playoff run, where they advanced to the Fraser Cup Round Robin after claiming the South Division title.

“I enjoyed playing with the Rhinos and had a great season with them,” Gross said.

The forward spent a handful of games in the NAHL last season with the Bismark Bobcats and El Paso Rhinos. Matthew is looking forward to returning to the NAHL and bringing his style of play to Amarillo.

“I am very excited to make the jump back playing in the NAHL this year; I am looking forward to bringing a high-intensity drive to the team,” Gross said.

After a productive season in the NA3HL, Matthew is eager to join the Wranglers and take the next step in developing with the help of the coaching staff in Amarillo.

“I am excited about the opportunity to be coached by coach Mahood and coach Gylling and their ability to help players get to the next level,” Matthew said.

Matthew is familiar with the Gylling family and will reunite when arriving in Amarillo.

“I’ve known coach Gylling for a while, having played with a few years in youth hockey with his younger brother. I am excited to work with him again,” Gross said.

With a strong passion for the game, Matthew was happy with his performance last season and is ready to bring that same energy to the Panhandle.

” I appreciate the opportunity last year in El Paso and will be working hard to continue that passion as a Wrangler this year in Amarillo,” Gross said.
