Amarillo, Tx– The Wranglers’ offense would come alive Friday night to propel Amarillo to a 5-to-1 victory over the El Paso Rhinos.

Amarillo would break the ice early when Ben Ivey connected for his second goal of the season just 60 seconds into the game. The Wranglers would control play for most of the period, including shutting down an El Paso power-play. The Rhinos would catch a break when Pierce Patterson hit the crossbar on a breakaway late in the period. Moments after, El Paso would tie the game when Luke Morris’ shot went off the crossbar and in.

The Wranglers wouldn’t waste much time reclaiming their lead just three minutes into the second period when JT Halliday poked home a rebound past Nolan Suggs. Amarillo would add to their lead when Kyle Demarco connected on a pass from his own blueline to the El Paso blueline with Blake Farrell, who scored his first goal as a Wrangler. Farrell’s goal would give the Wranglers a 3-to-1 lead in the third period.

Amarillo would add to their lead in the third period with goals from Tommy Chunchukov and Chase Davis. Davis would score on the power play to secure the 5-to-1 victory. Luca Ganz only had to face 21 shots and picked up his seventh win.

The Wranglers got their tenth win on the season and will look to sweep the Rhinos Saturday at 7:15.
