Nolan Gagnon Named Assistant Captain for 2023-24 Season

Nov 17, 2023

Amarillo, TX – The Amarillo Wranglers are proud to announce that Nolan Gagnon has been named an Assistant Captain for the 2023-24 season.

“We are very excited to be naming Gags as an Assistant Captain for the 23-24 season,” said Wranglers Head Coach Ryan Anderson. “He has been an outstanding leader on and off the ice. His work ethic is something that our young players can look up to and aspire to be.”

In his rookie season with the Wranglers, Gagnon has been nothing short of impressive, as the 20-year-old defenseman from Metcalfe, Ontario has tallied 14 points in 19 games. He picked up his first NAHL point on September 14th with two assists vs. Minnesota and scored his first NAHL goal the day after against the Northeast Generals. Gagnon’s 12 assists lead all Wranglers skaters so far this season and his 5 multiple-point games this year are among the team leaders in that category.

Prior to joining the Wranglers this season, Gagnon spent four years with the Cornwall Colts of the Central Canada Hockey League, where he scored 11 goals and 56 assists for 67 points in 115 games as a defenseman.

Gagnon will now wear an “A” on his jersey and join the Wranglers leadership group featuring Ben Ivey as the Captain and Kyle DeMarco as an Assistant Captain.
