Feb 1, 2024

Amarillo, TX – Wranglers defenseman Nolan Gagnon has been named the NAHL’s Defenseman of the Month for January.

Gagnon had a month to remember, scoring 4 goals and 9 assists with a +9 rating in January, including a 4-point night on January 5th at Colorado where he had a goal and three assists. Nolan’s efforts helped the Wranglers go 6-1-0-1 in January as Amarillo continued to climb the South Division standings in pursuit of the division title. He also announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Alaska Anchorage on January 27th.

In his rookie season in the NAHL, Gagnon has excelled with the Wranglers. In 39 games so far this season, Gagnon has 6 goals and 25 assists on the year. He has proven to be an excellent puck-moving defenseman and is in the top five among defensemen in scoring (T-3rd), assists (4th), shots, (4th), and shootout goals (T-1st). Gagnon’s 9 multi-point games on the season lead all Wranglers defensemen, and he finished the month with 3 goals and 4 assists in his last 5 games.

“This is a very deserving honor for Nolan,” said Wranglers Head Coach Ryan Anderson. “He played a key role in the success that we had as a team during the month of January. I am excited for him to continue his high level of play during the stretch run to the playoffs.”

Gagnon and the Wranglers will host the Oklahoma Warriors on February 2nd and 3rd at the Budweiser Bull Pen. Saturday is Pucks & Paws Night where dogs are welcome to attend. You can get your tickets at panhandletickets.com.
