Weekend Preview: Wichita Falls Warriors

Headline: 

The Amarillo Wranglers hit the road this weekend with a series against the Wichita Falls Warriors at Kay Yeager Coliseum.

The Warriors have a 2-3-1 record for five points in the South division while Amarillo enters the weekend with a 5-1 record and sits atop the division with 10 points.

By The Numbers: 

The Wranglers are coming off of a sweep of the El Paso Rhinos at the Budweiser Bullpen last weekend capped off by a 5-to-1 win Saturday night. Wichita Falls split last weekend with the Odessa Jackalopes at home and also had an offensive explosion with a 6-to-2 win on Saturday.

The Warriors have a -3 goal differential through the first six games and the Wranglers have a +7 differential. The Wranglers also enter the weekend with an edge in special team numbers with a powerplay operating at 50% and a penalty kill at 75%. The Warriors have a 15.8% ranking on the man advantage and are 68% on the penalty kill.

Kristaps Skrastins leads the way on the scoresheet with nine goals and five assists. Glebs Prohorenkovs is second with six goals and nine assists. The Warriors have three players for the most points as Jack Blanchett, Carter Korpi, and Ryan Robinson all have five points in six games.

Max Gutjahr has a 3-and-1 record with a .922 save percentage while the Warriors are led by Matthew O’Donnell between the pipes. O’Donnell has a 2-and-2 record with a .903 save percentage.
